Museum Ship Weekend
Special Event Station - Saturday June 6, 2009
Statistics: The Special Event Station made 225 contacts in 42 states and one station in Manitoba, Canada. The Fulton Amateur Radio Club, in conjunction with the H Lee White Marine Museum in Oswego, will sponsor a Special Event Station on June 6, 2009 to commemorate the 65th anniversary of D-Day during the annual Museum Ships Weekend event. Lee White Marine Museum show off materials for a special event tied in with International Museum Ship Radio Weekend. In front are Pam Cantine (KC2PAM) and Tom Cantine (W2TQF), President of the Fulton Amateur Radio Club with some of the equipment visitors will be able to see & hear in action.
Press Release: To commemorate the 65th anniversary of D-Day, on Saturday, June 6, from 10am - 5pm, Operators from the Fulton Amateur Radio Club will be broadcasting from the H. Lee White Marine Museum as part of International Museum Ship Radio Weekend. Part of the Museum collection is the National Historic Landmark Tug “LT-5,” which saw duty during the Normandy invasion of WWII. Visitors will be able to viewradio equipment and speak with the operators as they communicate throughout the US and abroad. Other activities will be scheduled.
